Atlee, after the massive success of Jawan, is now preparing for his next venture. Reports suggest that this will be a two-hero film, initially rumored to have Salman Khan onboard. Atlee was also considering Kamal Haasan or Rajinikanth for the second lead; however, both legendary actors declined due to personal reasons.
Salman Khan Exits, Allu Arjun Steps In
Sometime later, news broke that Salman Khan was no longer part of the project. Various speculations arose about his departure—some reports claimed that Sun Pictures, the film’s producers, were reluctant to back such a high-budget venture with Salman, while others cited the actor’s health concerns as the reason.
Post-Salman’s exit, the film reached the desk of Allu Arjun, who reportedly agreed to come onboard. However, another wave of rumors suggested that even Allu Arjun had exited the project—which, as per the latest updates, is not true.
Allu Arjun is Locked for Atlee’s Film
According to a Pinkvilla report, Allu Arjun is still very much a part of Atlee’s film. Sources revealed that the movie is currently at the pre-production stage, with plans to begin shooting in August 2025.
Atlee and Allu Arjun aim to create a completely new cinematic universe, and the project is moving forward at full speed. If everything goes as planned, this film is set to hit theaters in 2027.
Allu Arjun’s Busy Line-up
Apart from Atlee’s movie, Allu Arjun is also working with director Trivikram Srinivas, with whom he delivered the blockbuster Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo.
With the success of the Pushpa franchise, it’s evident that Allu Arjun has become a pan-India star, attracting offers from across the country. Reports also state that Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Yash Raj Films have approached him for potential big-scale projects, though he has not confirmed his involvement in any of them yet.
Earlier this year, he was spotted visiting Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s office, sparking rumors that he might appear in a cameo role in Love & War. However, considering he has never worked in a Hindi film before, it seems unlikely that his Bollywood debut would be in the form of a mere cameo.
Will Allu Arjun Star in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Next?
There are also whispers that Allu Arjun might feature in a Bhansali-backed pan-India project based on Amish Tripathi’s book, Legend of Suheldev. Previously, Ram Charan was linked to this project, but there has been no significant update for a while. Now, there’s a chance that Allu Arjun could take over the role—although no official confirmation has been made by the filmmakers.
