“Empuraan,” directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, is the sequel to “Lucifer” and stars Mohanlal and Prithviraj himself. It made history with its unprecedented opening in Kerala, surpassing previous records. Released on 4,700 screens, it had a production budget of ₹50 crore. The film fetched ₹28 crore in India on its first day but made a staggering ₹42 crore overseas, particularly in Gulf countries known for strong Malayalam movie audiences. Its total worldwide opening reached around ₹70 crore.
## Sikandar: A Promising Blockbuster
Salman Khan’s “Sikandar,” directed by A.R. Murugadoss and starring a robust cast including Satyaraj and Rashmika Mandanna, is set for a grand release on March 30. Even before hitting theaters, it has garnered exceptional advance bookings. With two days still to the release, the film’s advance sales in India stand at ₹22.76 crore, coupled with an overseas tally of ₹11.65 crore, bringing the total to an astounding ₹34.41 crore.
