# Javed Sheikh Reveals an Unpleasant First Meeting with Emraan Hashmi During *Jannat* Shoot
Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi’s 2008 film *Jannat* is considered one of his cult classics. Apart from the gripping storyline, the songs gained immense popularity. Recently, veteran Pakistani actor Javed Sheikh shared an interesting anecdote about his experience working on *Jannat* and his first meeting with Emraan Hashmi, which didn’t go as expected.
## **Javed Sheikh’s Displeasing First Meeting with Emraan Hashmi**
During a conversation on *Ramadan Transmission with Umair Shahzad and Arsala*, Javed Sheikh was asked about his experience working with Emraan Hashmi. He candidly shared that their first meeting didn’t go well and left him quite displeased.
According to Javed, after signing the film, he had yet to meet Emraan Hashmi personally. The movie was produced by Mahesh Bhatt, with Kunal Deshmukh making his directorial debut. The shooting was set in South Africa, particularly in Cape Town’s stadium.
“When I arrived there, the director told me that Emraan Hashmi had also reached. As Emraan passed by, the director introduced me, saying, ‘This is Javed Sheikh from Pakistan.’ I extended my hand towards him, but he coldly ignored me and walked away. It made me really angry.”
Javed further recalled thinking, *”Who does he think he is? I have worked with big stars like Akshay Kumar, Shah Rukh Khan, and Salman Khan, and they all treat me with great respect. And here’s this actor, only a few films old, acting distant with me!”*
## **On-Set Tensions and Their Professional Collaboration**
The awkwardness didn’t end there. During the shoot, there was a scheduled rehearsal between the two actors. While Javed Sheikh was ready, he noted that he deliberately did not approach Emraan Hashmi, still upset over their first interaction.
Javed portrayed the role of Don Abu Ibrahim in *Jannat*, the character who introduces Emraan Hashmi’s character to the world of high-stake match-fixing. Despite the initial friction, both actors delivered compelling performances that made *Jannat* a memorable film for audiences.
## **Javed Sheikh’s Bollywood Journey**
Javed Sheikh has worked in several notable Bollywood films apart from *Jannat*, including *Om Shanti Om*, *Namastey London*, and *Jaan-E-Mann*. In *Om Shanti Om*, he played Om Kapoor’s (Shah Rukh Khan) father.
During a past interview, Javed had also revealed that, out of all the Bollywood actors he worked with, Akshay Kumar was the most mischievous. He shared an amusing incident from the set of *Jaan-E-Mann*, where Akshay pulled a prank by falsely claiming Javed’s wristwatch as his own.
## **Emraan Hashmi’s Upcoming Projects**
Emraan Hashmi is set to appear in a film based on the *Shah Bano Case*, where he will portray Mohammad Ahmed Khan, the husband of Shah Bano. His upcoming role has already garnered attention, and fans are eagerly waiting for the film’s release.
