# Kapil Sharma’s Comedy Show: Inspired by a Pakistani Show?
Kapil Sharma’s impeccable comic timing has earned him the title of “Comedy King.” After performing in six seasons of *Comedy Circus* on Sony TV, he launched his own show *Comedy Nights with Kapil* on Colors TV, which became immensely popular. Five years later, he returned to Sony TV with *The Kapil Sharma Show*, and now, he’s entertaining audiences with *The Great Indian Kapil Show* on Netflix.
Interestingly, the concept of Kapil’s shows has remained quite similar over the years. Recently, Pakistani comedian Shakeel Siddiqui made an intriguing statement, claiming that Kapil’s show’s format resembles that of his Pakistani show, *Banno Tere Abba Ki Oonchi Haveli*.
## Shakeel Siddiqui’s Statement About Kapil Sharma’s Show
Shakeel Siddiqui has been part of several Indian comedy shows, including those with Kapil Sharma. While he has often praised Kapil’s talent in past interviews, his latest remark has sparked curiosity.
In an interview with Nadir Ali’s YouTube channel, Shakeel stated:
*”I had a show named *Banno Tere Abba Ki Oonchi Haveli*, and its concept was quite similar to *The Kapil Sharma Show*. I’m not saying that Kapil copied my concept, but our show’s format was almost the same. Kapil is a great artist who knows his craft well. He treats me with respect and holds me in high regard.”*
This isn’t the first time a Pakistani comedian has suggested that Kapil Sharma’s show was inspired by an existing format. Previously, comedian Tabish Hashmi claimed that Kapil drew inspiration from legendary Pakistani comedian Umer Sharif’s show.
## Kapil Sharma’s Perspective on His Show’s Concept
Kapil Sharma has addressed the origins of his show’s concept in previous interviews. He explained that the idea came from his own early comedy stage shows in Amritsar, which were widely appreciated. He simply adapted that format for television, leading to the creation of *The Kapil Sharma Show*.
Kapil and Shakeel have worked together in past shows like *Ustaadon Ka Ustaad* and *Comedy Circus*. In earlier interviews, Shakeel appreciated the dedication and hard work of Kapil and his entire team. He remarked, *”They invited us, used our talent, which isn’t always the case in our country.”*
## Final Thoughts
While debates about content originality continue, there is no denying that *The Kapil Sharma Show* remains a massive success. Kapil’s unique presentation and humor ensure that his show stands out, regardless of any comparisons.
