# Karan Johar’s Response to Negative Reviews on *Naadanaiyaan*

Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar has responded to the backlash his production house film *Naadanaiyaan* received after its release on March 7. The film, made under the banner of *Dharma Entertainment*, has been criticized by both the audience and critics for its storyline, acting, and direction.

## Karan Johar Addresses the Criticism

During a press event for a Punjabi film trailer launch, Karan Johar spoke about the negative reviews surrounding *Naadanaiyaan*. He particularly addressed a review where a critic wrote, *”I want to kick this film.”* Expressing his concern over such remarks, Johar stated that he has no issue with reviews and social commentary, but personal attacks reflect the critic’s mindset rather than the film itself.

He emphasized that films like *Naadanaiyaan*, *Gustaakhiyan*, and *Gehraaiyan* are artistic expressions and should be evaluated thoughtfully. Taking a stand against harsh words used in reviews, Johar said, *”People should be mindful of words before speaking. They don’t realize that the ones they are targeting are also someone’s children.”*

## Johar Urges for Sensitivity in Film Criticism

Karan Johar further elaborated that intellectual cinema lovers should be sensitive in their opinions. Highlighting that using violent words like “kick” in reviews is a form of verbal aggression, he questioned why such reviewers do not practice restraint, just as people avoid direct physical violence in the real world.

Cautioning against unnecessary negativity, he remarked that intense criticism could impact an actor’s confidence and future projects.

## Industry Support Against Trolls

Before Karan Johar, filmmakers Hansal Mehta, Vikram Bhatt, and actor Sonu Sood also spoke in support of *Naadanaiyaan’s* cast, particularly newcomers Ibrahim Ali Khan and Khushi Kapoor. They urged audiences to critique performances constructively rather than engage in trolling, which could have a lasting psychological effect on young actors.

## Cast and Director of *Naadanaiyaan*

Directed by Shania Gautam, *Naadanaiyaan* stars debutants Ibrahim Ali Khan and Khushi Kapoor, alongside seasoned actors like Suniel Shetty, Dia Mirza, Mahima Chaudhry, and Jugal Hansraj. Despite the negative reviews, the film aimed to bring fresh storytelling elements to Bollywood.

Following *Naadanaiyaan*, Ibrahim Ali Khan’s next project will be *Sarzameen*, directed by Kayoze Irani.
