# Adi Irani’s Struggles Despite Baazigar’s Success
The 1993 Bollywood film *Baazigar* was a massive success, making Shah Rukh Khan a household name. Its songs, dialogues, and scenes became immensely popular. However, despite the film’s success, actor Adi Irani, who played a small but significant role, went through financial hardships.
In a recent interview with Filmi Tantra, Adi Irani shared his struggles post-*Baazigar*. He revealed that even after working in films like *Baazigar*, *Dil*, and *Welcome*, he faced severe financial difficulties. The actor often played supporting roles, including comic and villainous characters.
## Adi Irani Had No Money to Buy Milk for His Daughter
Adi recalled that in 1995, when his first daughter was born, he could barely afford necessities. He stated,
> “At that time, milk cost ₹5. There were times when I didn’t even have enough money to buy milk for my daughter. Every day, I would go into the city to meet people, hoping to get work. A friend had given me a scooter, but sometimes, I didn’t even have money to buy petrol. I used to walk from my home to the bus stop because I couldn’t afford fuel. People would ask me why I was at the bus stop, and I would lie that I was waiting for a friend.”
## Refused Financial Help from Sister Aruna Irani
Adi Irani is the brother of renowned actress Aruna Irani. When asked if he sought financial help from his sister, he responded,
> “My sister knew about my financial struggles, and she even helped me multiple times. However, I refused her help. Just because I am her brother doesn’t mean she should support me forever. It was my struggle, and I had to deal with it. She has her own family to take care of.”
## Adi Irani on Working with Govinda
In the same interview, Adi Irani also shared his experience of working with Bollywood superstar Govinda. He revealed that Govinda often altered scenes entirely, ensuring that the focus remained on him.
> “After reading a scene, Govinda would modify it completely—not just his own lines but also those of his co-actors. He would make such changes that the entire focus shifted onto him, leaving little room for anyone else in the frame.”
