Vikas Divyakirti Criticizes ‘Animal,’ Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga Responds

Ranbir Kapoor’s blockbuster film Animal continues to spark debates even after its release. Recently, IAS officer and educator Vikas Divyakirti commented that films like Animal set society back by 10 years. Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga has now responded to this criticism, saying that becoming an IAS officer is easier than making a film.

Vikas Divyakirti’s Criticism of Animal

In a recent interview, Vikas Divyakirti stated:
🔹 Films like Animal negatively impact society.
🔹 They glorify violence and aggression, pushing society 10 years backward.
🔹 Filmmakers should prioritize social responsibility rather than focusing only on box-office earnings.

Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Response

Sandeep Reddy Vanga strongly defended his film, saying:
✅ “He (Vikas) is an IAS officer. The way he spoke, it felt like I committed a crime.”
✅ “Becoming an IAS officer is easier than making a film. You can study for a few years and clear the IAS exam, but there is no course or teacher for filmmaking.”
✅ “If someone attacks me without reason, I will naturally get angry.”

Vanga also emphasized that Animal was a result of a shared vision between him and Ranbir Kapoor. The actor did not question the script or ask for any changes.

Ranbir Kapoor’s Take on the Animal Controversy

At the International Film Festival of India (IFFI), Ranbir Kapoor addressed the criticism:
📌 He agreed that actors should bring films that positively impact society.
📌 However, he also emphasized that taking up diverse roles is essential for an actor.

Despite mixed reviews, Animal became the biggest hit of Ranbir Kapoor’s career.
